Indian Gang Rape Victim Dies!

After days of struggling with what happened to her, this woman breathed her last. I just hope that her death is not in vain. Too many women are victims of rape on a daily basis. One victim of such a crime is one too many.
By bringing to light what happened to her, I hope the people will finally be aware that rape is NOT at crime of passion it is a crime of pure evil which uses power to bring down and humiliate the victim. It is never the victim's fault why she is raped. How a person dress, act, sound, or look is not an invite for any to come and violate her body.

A lot of people are stating the opinion that people in general are only giving this case a special tag because of the severity. I personally think that we all should stop bickering about this incident in this aspect as this is not the point. Often times many people are indifferent to crimes especially heinous ones because often it is reported so indifferently. Victims are not shown or their life stories told. The way it is presented makes it seem like its just another faceless body in a sea of statistics.

I hope this incident brings to light that a victim IS NEVER A FACELESS BODY. We just do not know their names or see their faces. But now that we can see a victim's face and got to know her maybe just maybe our indifference can be turned to concern as this face can be your sister, mother, cousin, friend.

May she still get justice even in death.

Atheism, Feminism, And the Whole Purist Movement

For the record I would like to state it here that I am NOT a feminist. That said, it does not mean that I do not care about the different issues plaguing females. I acknowledge them and will fight tooth and claw to address these issues and concerns but I still will NOT call myself a feminist.
Attaching that title to myself makes me feel like I am ONLY focusing on the issue being directed at women, those (un)fortunate enough to have been born with a vagina. And that is not the case.

Gender is not important in one's fight against injustice. One's gender should not be one's basis for one to take action. Women are plagued with issues and discrimination, it is true and I am not denying that but that doesn't mean that other people and the opposite gender don't have problems of their own. If you deny this, then you are discriminating.

I am also starting to hate the whole wave of this "new" feminism movement. IF their posts and blogs are to be the yardstick by which we judge one's views and actions that I can say most of them have become quite paranoid and even misandrist. Its the same as misogyny in my book.

One recent example is the whole Michael Shermer and Ophelia Benson barb. The Atheism+ side seems to employ the same tactic to bring in traffic to their side and that is, say something unfounded and attack the person they deem deserves their special ire and attention. The latest victim is Michael Shermer, hey they already got to Dawkins and Harris. Who's going to be next?

Its funny how Ophelia Benson tried to demonize Shermer and twist his statement in an event which she ironically didn't even show up for. How these new feminists behave now makes me distance away from the whole movement. The witch hunt for supposed misogynists is what is killing this movement as they are attacking the very people, the men, who are in all out support of the whole movement.

What do I identify with, people might ask. I call myself a humanist. I care about issues affecting humanity and will not stop nor purely concentrate my attention on just feminism and femininity.
A lot may not agree with my views and might probably see contradictions but this is a better approach for me.

Sotto Is Being The Real Cyber Bully

Sotto's idiocy just dipped an all-time low. After making his turno en contra speech at the Senate regarding the Reproductive Health bill and being criticized by netizens after it surfaced that majority of his speech contained misrepresented claims neither backed by legitimate statistics and studies of science using words that were clearly NOT his, Sen. Sotto now claims to be the first victim of cyber-bullying. It seems that our good ol' senator just doesn't understand what "bullying" means and in what context it applies.
Coupled with his arrogant attitude, instead of admitting his wrong or JUST KEEPING MUM after he's already been exposed, he continues to spew bullshit non-stop.

With him still being in-power now he is using his position to try and curtail free speech. The blogging and internet technology age has now ushered in a new type of social awareness unseen and unprecedented. Information is literally just a type away. With that said, many people who do idiotic things, make stupid claims, and try to present unsupported facts are now being exposed in just a matter of minutes. The beauty of this lies in the fact that now people can communicate faster and have the option to look at other sources of information that seemed to be inaccessible in the past.
This worries the old and traditional politicians because the task of spoon-feeding people with bullshit has gotten to be harder. Armed with knowledge, the people are not so gullible anymore.

Here's a good suggestion senator, instead of proposing an ANTI-BLOGGING law why not push for an anti-plagiarism law and while you are at it how about developing a good code of conduct and ethics too?
It might actually do you good because then you'll at least put more effort in making your speeches perhaps?

Another aging Senator who supports Sotto regarding the bill also demonstrate his senility by agreeing with him. Really, people who don't know how the internet works should not make rules for it.

Just when I thought Sen. Tito Sotto could not sink any lower with his recent plagiarism brouhaha once again I see myself being proven wrong. Instead of manning up and apologizing for his mistake for plagiarizing another blogger named Sarah Pope and quoting her work almost word for word in his "turno en contra" speech at the senate floor, Sotto did not address the whole accusation and continued to spew more bullshit by saying stupid things about the RH Bill. He tried to wash his hands clean on the matter but what the good ol’ senator forgot is the role of command responsibility.

He presented a speech supposedly reflecting HIS OWN VIEWS AND OPINIONS regarding a bill which he vehemently opposes and now he let his staff say he is not at fault here?!

Sotto you are a disgrace!

Following the developments of the whole RH Bill debate, in his latest tirade Sen. Tito Sotto has now pulled the Nazi card, also known as Reductio ad Hitlerum or argumentum ad Hitlerum. The Nazi Card is an ad hominem or ad misericordiam argument. This is a strategy used by some people in debates where they try to discredit their opponent's points raised by comparing his or her opponent's views to be similar with that famous dictator Adolf Hitler or the Nazi Party.

Not only are the person's points that were raised using this argument irrelevant the suggested logic is one of guilt by association.

I find this move by the senator quite disgusting. First of all it is an affront to the real victims of Nazism and their families. Once again he clearly demonstrates that he really does not know what the hell it is that he’s talking about. Having run out valid points that will help him try to prove his staunch stance against the HR Bill, Sotto has now turned this debate into a debacle for his part.

Philippines, I hope you realize now what an ass of a clown is the person currently occupying one of our Senate seats is. Hopefully, we learn our lesson and would avoid electing people like him. And as for Sen. Tito Sotto himself, he should take a lesson from his other showbiz-politician buddy Sen. Lito Lapid to just join him and be part of the Senate silent committee. This would spare us all from hearing another one of his stupid rants and prevent from embarrassing us even further.

Being Born With A Vagina

Being born with a vagina seems to be like a curse in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It makes me wonder how savage the men of Saudi Arabia are that they cannot stand seeing a woman. This "hate" or "savagery" is so strong that somehow it has urged them to even think about building a city to separate the female species. They already keep them wrapped in layers of clothing and almost suffocating them inside those bags. Now they wish to isolate them even more and they wish to sell this move as their way of respecting women. Do these morons actually believe that if women are to mingle with men chaos would ensue or what?

And for anyone to say that "It's their rules so they should follow it when they want." I say FUCK YOU!
The oppression of women and of anybody weaker should never be condoned. All people should voice out their outrage at this very sexist, oppressive move.
If anyone would ever parrot such a sentiment then I can truly say that person is not moral or ethical.

Claims To The Russian Throne With A Touch Of Filipino Flair

The whole article published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer's website has generated a lot of buzz recently.
It is about a Russian immigrant who had an eccentric lifestyle and told fascinating stories to her grandkids about her old homeland.
Turns out, her story mirrors that of someone living in a palace and was raised affluently. Now, in comes the headlines in a newspaper that is supposedly one of the country's best, FILIPINO'S GRANDMAMA COULD BE RUSSIA'S ANASTASIA and boom! Watch the Google search results soar for Romanov and Anastasia.

I find it personally disgusting that a paper who claims to uphold the truth would even publish something like this without doing a personal research. I know the story is quite interesting but it remains to be that, just a story. Not fit to be in a newspaper really but more like those romance novels sold for P15 each.

This may sound harsh to most, but if you come out of the public with an outlandish claim do have something tangible to back it up and not just an old photograph and some "results" of a spirit of the glass session.

And just to quell all these rumors please do a simple search. Really it does help. Spreading lies and fueling ignorance is something a paper like the Philippine Daily Inquirer should be ashamed of.

Oh wait... We are talking about PDI here after all. It is just another story for them no doubt. Carry on...

Okay before I turn in for the day it was brought to my attention that there is an official masturbation campaign happening and it is called the WankOut2012 inspired by none other than Rick Santorum. The people in the Adult Entertainment industry (Tod bless their cum-filled soles errr souls) took the time to make a video and speak out against Santorum's fixation on "explicit" fornication. I personally think that the only reason why Santorum is so against the porn industry is that he's actually a bitch with a stitched up pussy so he cannot partake in those exquisite activities demonstrated in the porn industry. They just need to take out whatever is plugging his asshole and I believe he will actually be a lot better. No?
I really do not know how any one can take Santorum's views seriously. But we live in a fucked up world where people like Santorum are viewed as voices of gawd.

Hypocrites and the Deluded

I really don’t know how to begin with this post because right now I am just fucking mad with all the commentaries I am seeing regarding this girl who posed atop a cross during that disgusting and vile occasion which Christians lovingly refer to as the “Hole-y Weak” (Holy Week).

So you people have a better idea what it is that is getting on my nerves I think it is best that I link the picture right here.

She got up on the damn cross and had her photo taken. If that is so offensive then how come the relitards did not raise their voices during Holey Weak when a couple of looneys really tried to pose as JC, walking around with a cross and thorned helmets on, then willfully having themselves nailed to a damn cross?

The photograph that the Katolibans were so quick to condemn might even be photoshopped for Christ’s sake!

A scene like the one on the right is not a rare sight here in the Philippines. Just go to any church, whether it is Sto. Niño or the Cathedral and you will find that the poorest of the poor are not allowed entrance inside the gilded quarters because it will inconvenience the patrons of the church. They, who cannot stand the site of a "taong grasa" and the "mabahong amoy" that emanates from them. Why do you think churches have SECURITY GUARDS for god's sake!? The outside walls of Sto. Niño in Cebu alone tell the whole story.

The goddamn priests and members of the laity can't and won't help the homeless people that are very visible outside their gates!

The shirtless guy (right) visited and church and was beaten by the security guard. Here's the story.

If you are a mature and civilized person, of course it won't be a big deal. Unfortunately my fellow sodomites, that's not the case in the Philippines.

The holier-than-thous will surely berate this girl and hunt her down. They will probably even hire private investigators to trace the poor girl's home address, which is always a possibility for we never know just how crazy these people can get. And just like the Taliban in the Middle East, the Katolibans will do everything to make this girl's life a living hell.

Most of you are already aware what these Katolibans could do but if you have no idea, we could start by reading Jose Rizal's life. How about that? Not a bad idea isn't it? But we could also skim through the pages of the New Testament and like what I've said earlier, everything is perfectly similar.

Excellence - The True Mark Of A Person's Character

There was this person who was down on his luck. He recently lost his job and had difficulty paying his bills. He seemed to be a good person though as he volunteered for different organizations and other causes. His life's story was something to be admired if you were one of those people he told his story to. It had all the ingredients and factors needed for one of those feel-good movies that the movie industry seems to churn out these days. A poor boy born into a life of struggle and poverty yet despite all the odds was still able to get a college degree. He didn't accomplish it entirely on his own though for he got help from different people along the way. He was the beneficiary of a charitable institution run by nuns, paid his way through life by doing different jobs, but despite his poverty still managed to volunteer for noble or civic causes and give his best.

It really is good when you think about it. It somehow restores one's faith back in humanity when they see such people pave their ways through society. Indeed, it is something to be admired.

After knowing this, you'd wish to be able to help this person in any way you can because you feel he deserves it. You know that with a little good luck he could do wonderful things. You feel like he is really true and good!

So when you are presented with an opportunity to really extend a helping hand, you immediately contact them and let them know. This is it! It is time you reward kindness with another kindness, with the thought and intention that they will be perfect for it because not only do they subscribe to the same values that you do, they walk the walk and talk the talk too. There was this job opening offered by another and this is the opportunity you see that would help them but it would require them to be away from their familiar environment and good friends. But with this new environment they'd be getting they'll encounter other people to help and expand their horizons. The work was a rewarding one. He'd be given a chance to help out other kids born in the same circumstances as he was. The salary package wasn't bad either. Plus, there was travel in their horizon if they did well.

With such wonderful news they immediately take up your offer and agree to your conditions. They promised to do their best and commit to the project. They gave you their word that they won't let you down.

But just two weeks later in to the job they quit! The reasons given were not even reasonable.

So what do you do? You gave the person who offered them a job a stunning recommendation. And then this person whom you once admired just let it go.

Anyway... This whole episode got me thinking.

What is the true essence of a person's character? People, especially the ones you meet online can present themselves in any manner they wish and in the process fool not only the strangers that they don't have personal contact with but also their own family and friends.

I admit I was really fooled by this person. I relied only on his information and never really bothered to investigate his true nature. But then again, how does one know really? Everything can be faked or can't it?

Excellence and greatness True excellence and greatness can never be faked. It is quite impossible to. They don't have to be a CEO of a big company or someone rich and famous to be excellent and great.

Excellent people would follow-up with their commitments and do their job to the best of their ability.

They know that if they give their best they won't be the only one benefiting from their efforts but in the process get to help out a lot of people. Even though their goal is for personal gain, the effort they put in along the way would help improve their situation and by doing so would also impact others.

They develop their self and focus their attention on how to be better. They don't easily let go of responsibilities and abandon tasks just because of paltry reasons.

I would say this event taught me a couple of things. Lessons learned the hard way. I am also wary now of trusting people, I must admit. I would have done the job myself if I could have turned back the clock.

It is too late now though. At least this experience taught me a very valuable lesson.

Some People Don't Deserve Any Kindness

You know who are!

The road to Hell can sometimes be paved with good intentions. Often you are not even aware you are descending there because you are only thinking about the good for all.

Little do you realize that the people you encounter and trust along the way are the very ones who would make your journey an unbearable, unpleasant one.

Trust is a very sensitive thing especially when the person we wish to trust is someone miles away and our only interaction is online.

We only have their words and stories to rely on.

What they tell you is as good as it gets.

Some people are just very good at manipulating words.

Many also use their unfortunate financial states to justify lying, stealing and scheming.

Often, they immediately throw their dignity away for a very paltry amount.

When I learned your story I was touched. Knowing your struggles and your predicament then, I thought it was wise to help someone like you who was just down with luck. I was very confident you'd do a good job because you would be able to relate to the people whose lives you'll have the opportunity to touch and even change, the very change that you got to experience for yourself when people who formed foundations helping kids reached out to help someone like you. But I was wrong. Instead, you squandered the opportunity. Took advantage of it and sucked it for all it's got.

The only regret I have was to trust someone like you. That was a very big mistake.

You could have had a good future, a career worthy of dedication, a life. Yet, you opted to destroy it and head back to an existence of no opportunity. You destroyed the trust of other people, not only me, who banked on your character. You also destroyed friendships. You didn't think.

You knew the terms, you knew what was expected, you knew the conditions and yet you chose to commit. The least you could do was stick to it until the time your dues are paid up and you fulfill your end of the bargain. But you couldn't or you didn't want to. You did not even have the courtesy to contact me or any of your comrades. Instead you opted to hide and lie some more.

At this point, I find it hard to wish you anything good. I'll just wait for life to deal with you accordingly.

When a Katoliban Speaks!

I encountered this blog post in one of the debate groups I frequent I can only shake my head at the sheer stupidity of this person's post. At first I didn't want to post a reply but since I took the time to address some of his points in a group then I'll just copy my post here.
We were even discussing to address his issues one by one. But why bother anyway, this post is just way too pathetic and it is clear he's a member of the Katoliban. A quick search on any search engine would show all he has written is pure garbage.

I'm only going to tackle the points that pissed me off.

As I read his 9th point raised, it made me realize that there should be a new internet law to be introduced and I propose we call it Reductio ad Stalinum a short spin on the Argumentum ad Hitlerum but only this time an ignaramus would resort to citing Stalin's non-beliefs. The conclusion is suggested/hinted/pointed based solely on Stalin's claim that he was atheist (but this has been debated in political-literary circles that Stalin was SPIRITUAL but not religious)

After Life: The Strange Science Of Decay

I admit that the thought of death (my own and my loved ones) scares me. Many people like to think and fantasize about immortality and eternal youth. But what for? What is so appealing about getting to live forever?

I see the whole process of dying as sacrosanct. Why is death and decay important in the cycle of life? Here's something you need to see. Being reborn not in the biblical sense but in a more profound way than it. Life relies on death. Death paves way for life. We need not fear it.

I guess this understanding of death, decay and dying is helping me be comfortable with the idea and natural flow of life. I'd love to live longer though but not forever.
